Strength, speed, dexterity were all enhanced as well as their ability to survive the hostile environments. This genetic manipulation technology was also very valuable for recovering troops captured by the Herapi mercenaries. Troops like Drake. But once the war was over the Human Coalition didn't have the money to reverse any of the changes to its solders. So the veterans have had to put their new abilities to use.
